Alvar Aalto is one of the most significant figures in 20th century design and architecture. He created his own style, inspired by man and nature. Aalto believed that good design should form part of everyday life, and created useful products with multiple uses, designed to improve it. He never indicated how his glass objects were intended to be used, as he wanted users to decide their purpose for themselves. The undulating, flowing, organic shapes of the objects in this collection are reminiscent of the thousands of lakes that punctuate Finnish landscapes. Iittala's glassblowers continue to make these legendary, stunningly beautiful vases by hand today. Aalto vase is available in various sizes and colours. Since being presented at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1937, the Aalto collection has become a true masterpiece.
