Konstantin GRCIC

Né en 1965 à Munich en Allemagne, il suit une formation d’ébéniste au Parnham College à Dorset, puis fait des études de design industriel au Royal College of Art de Londres. De 1990 à 1991 il travaille dans le studio de Jasper Morrison à Londres. En 1991, il crée à Munich sa propre structure « Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design », qui lui sert à la fois d'atelier et de studio. Depuis, il y crée des meubles, objets et lampes pour des fabricants renommés tels que Magis ou l’éditeur de luminaires Flos.   Adepte d’un fonctionnalisme « actuel, faisable et concret », ses créations ne se révèlent pas simplement minimalistes mais radicales, pures, directes et simples tout en s’interdisant de se répéter. Avec l’éditeur Plank, Konstantin Grcic expérimente l’assise en porte-à-faux et réalise Miura, tabouret de bar empilable aux lignes acérées.
