Gan is a family business based in Valencia and founded in 1941 by José Gandia Blasco (the father of the current director of the company, José Antonio). Gan initially specialised in the manufacture of blankets. Today, the company has two different product lines: Gan rugs and Gan bedding. However, Gan also conquered the furniture market and sells its products under the brand Gandia Blasco, with 15 collections in the sector. The brand's flagship products are its iconic rugs made from refined textiles, such as the Sail Gan Spaces rug.
Gan presents the perfect balance between folklore and innovative shapes and patterns. Spanish brand Gan revisits ancestral manufacturing methods to create contemporary and original rugs appreciated around the world. The designer furniture brand Gan received the Impiva Innovation Award in 1990 thanks to the new design of the company’s logo (a small, stylised cat looking for home comforts) and its products. Gan stands out thanks to its increasingly innovative design, and the success of its rugs led to the creation of other products. Gan extended its collection with sheets, cushions and poufs, such as the Mangas collection by Patricia Urquiola. Gan promotes diversity within the company and collaborates with designers from around the world. It goes without saying that the designers are internationally renowned professionals with an excellent reputation. Gan collaborates with Jean Marie Massaud, Marie Mees, Sandra Figuerola, Ododesign, José A Gandia and Francesc Rifé. Gan rugs produced in India feature a wide variety of designs thanks to the experts' differing stylistic experiences.
Gan is a member of non-profit organisation GoodWeave. Together, they ensure that no Gan-certified products are the result of child labour and that workers receive fair pay.
