Inspired by the undulating movement of air often seen through smoke and fog, the Aer vase, designed by Gabriel Tan for Menu, brings a sculptural touch to the space. Taking its name from the Latin word for “air” or “vapour”, the asymmetrically-shaped vase undulates like a liquid, bringing an almost ethereal, tactile quality to the glass. Available in two sizes, the Aer vase is perfect for displaying flowers or branches on its own or as a duo. The tactile, undulating surface of the glass is produced in a precise process where the glass is mouth-blown in a two-cavity tool that reveals the complex shape in three dimensions. The Menu Aer vase is different depending on the angle from which it is viewed, becoming more than just a vase: it is a sculptural object, even when not in use. It plays elegantly with light, animating the space with the reflections and refraction it creates.
