The Fatboy brand was created in 1998 by Finnish designer Jukka Setälä and Dutch designer Alex Bergmana.  In 1998, Finnish designer Jukka Setälä and designer Alex Bergman listened to "Edgy" by the band Fatboy Slim. Shortly after, Jukka Setälä imagined and designed THE modern-day bean bag.Huge, soft with an oversized label and fun. The Fatboy bean bag became the infamous "Original Fatboy" and gained worldwide popularity. The "playful" designer brand became a design icon thanks to its hero product, the Fatboy bean bag. Rolled out in about twenty colours, it became an absolute must-have, and marked the beginning of the Fatboy adventure. Since its creation, the brand have continued to present new creations with a consistently contemporary and "chilled out" spirit. The Fatboy collection has expanded to include a variety of iconic products: gigantic lamps, rugs, side tables, and its infamous "magic" Lamzac hammocks. The Edison lamp, inspired by Thomas Edison’s electric light bulb, also became one of the brand’s flagship products.
